I am rapidly approaching the part of my journey that I have been waiting with anticipation and dread on just so many different levels. My oldest son graduates from Luther College this weekend. While this opens a new chapter in his life I cannot help but think about how great these last four years have been watching his growth and to see all he has accomplished makes me proud. Next weekend my nephew graduates from high school in the Twin Cities and the weekend after that is filled once again with celebrations from the Twin Cities to Racine. Thus arises my apprehension. Sprinkle in my daughter’s end of year school concerts and getting kids moved from school back home. Oh yea did I mention I am training for Ironman in September, and will plunk (yes I will plunk) out a half marathon Memorial Day weekend.
Yes I am getting in some swims, bikes and runs but not really at the level I think I need to be at right now. This is not a tragedy and for me it these are exciting changes for my family and friends. These are life moments that I need and want to be a part of, yet I still feel a little guilty missing so much training time. My hope is that it will make the events I am in this summer richer. Till next time…. I will report on my latest DXA scan, but I am still overanalyzing the results but all is good.
